1. What this platform is
CJP Legal Aid connects people who need legal help with volunteer advocates who provide assistance pro bono. The platform itself does not provide legal advice; advice comes from the independent advocates you interact with.
2. No fees
Legal assistance arranged through this platform is free. No advocate may charge you for services arranged here. If anyone asks you for money, report it immediately through the in-chat "Report a concern" option or our helpline.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe. Provide accurate contact information — it is how your advocate reaches you. Accounts used to harass volunteers, file false requests, or misuse the platform may be suspended.
4. Advocate verification
We verify volunteer advocates against Bar Council enrollment records before they can accept cases. Verification does not constitute an endorsement of the quality of any advocate’s services.
5. No guarantee of outcome
We work to connect you with help as fast as possible, but we cannot guarantee response times, case outcomes, or the availability of an advocate in your area. For emergencies, always use the helpline numbers in addition to the platform.
6. Privacy
Your personal details are shared with an advocate only when you explicitly choose to share them. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we store and how it is used.
7. Limitation of liability
The platform is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, CJP Legal Aid is not liable for acts or omissions of volunteer advocates, or for losses arising from use of the platform.
8. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated terms.
